Biography



J.D. Bump is a professional artist working in bronze, oil, watercolor, ceramic and ink. His work is on display in private collections around the United States and abroad. Bump art was recently featured in Oregon Homes Magazine (March/April 2003 issue; Click Horses with Human Figures to see the work featured by Oregon Homes Magazine).

J.D.Bump's studio is currently located near beautiful Multnomah Village, Oregon. Bump was born and raised in Portland, Oregon where he attended high school in Lake Oswego. His art was first published in 1986 and the same year he received an art scholarship at the University of Oregon. He has since studied art in France, taught art in Washington and has been involved with fund-raising projects such as the Cascade Aids Art Auction.

Bump prides himself with trying to live an adventurous lifestyle thereby soaking up a diverse range of experiences. He has traveled to many countries (see travel art) and views travel as an essential part of keeping the mind full of new ideas.

Most of the recent art coming out of the Bump studio has been large sculpture (see the shells by clicking here) but also he has been working with models to produce a new series of bronzes which will soon be available for viewing at jdbump.com
